Alyne is best known in  South Bay belly dance community for her elegant and ethereal veil dance exhibitions.  The Double Veil Workshop is a specialty prop workshop for use of two veils, but also useful for anyone interested in developing their single veil skills too.

Intermediate Double Veil Choreography Clinic Goddess Ciftitelli (Desert Wind)     12:30am – 2:00pm

A follow-on choreography clinic for dancers who participated in Alyne’s Novice and Intermediate Double Veil workshop previously.   We’ll use the choreography in Alyne’s Double Veil Syllabus to develop graceful and elegant transitions between effects.  Must have fundamental mastery of hand positions, inside/outside mechanics, ability to “break out”  and basic spinning (these will not be covered).  Workshop features short video clip of group final segment for self study (private view for attendees only).  1.5  hours   $35.00 per person1.5 hours   $35.00 per person

Intro/Novice Level 2:00pm -3:30 pm

Come to a mini workshop and unravel the mysteries of veil dance.  will take you on a journey that is sensual, playful, and visually stunning.  No experience required, but wonderful results are guaranteed!   Bring your veils of choice, or borrow from the instructor for the class.  We will follow Alyne’s Syllabus to master basic skills in hand positions, inside/outside mechanics, ability to “break out” and sculpting/shaping with veil outer edges.  1.5 hours    $35.00 per person  Brief theory of veil work–how veils behave with respect to choice of fabrics and shape, similarities and differences between single/double veil techniques. How to hold double veils, fundamentals of getting inside and out–training tips on developing strength, skill, spins!  Printed syllabus provided, each workshop followed by short video clip group for self study.  Workshop features short video clip of group final segment for self study (private view for attendees only).  1.5  hours   $35.00 per person 1.50 hours   $35.00 per person

Intermediate Level:   3:30-5:00 pm

Requires participating in Alyne’s Novice Session previously.  Guided exercises to help your double veil effects achieve their maximum potential. Presentation and instruction of a selected sequences designed to use veil effects to best advantage. Performance elements: building a repertoire of double veil effects: anchored and unanchored veil moves, standing taxim and traveling moves, considerations and formula for creating graceful transitions between effects.   Printed syllabus provided includes choreography for  study.  Workshop features short video clip of group final segment for self study (private view for attendees only).  1.5  hours   $35.00 per person
